GOLFING

In 1905, the Viceroy of India, Lord Curzon became so captivated with the beauty of Naldehra, a place 22 kilometers from him summer capital Shimla, that he would often come and camp here for days on end.

The Naldehra Golf Club is an unusual course, perched at an altitude of 2,200 meters; under a thick mane of Himalayan Cedar ; “Deodar Trees”. It is a par 68, 18 Hole Golf Course with 16 Greens and 18 Tees. Designed over a long sloping glade, the course is regarded as one of the most challenging in the Country.

It was originally a nine hole course with the same greens repeated on the back nine with different tees. But as time passed, the management felt the need of adding a little more diversity to the course, which they did by relaying it and adding a few more greens and respective tees without challenging the natural topography. This effort was fruitful as the design of the course turned out to be unique as compared to other courses you would come across.

HORSE RIDING

The forest area can also be covered through horse riding. Separate tracks are there for the horses and they take you through some distant forest having more views of the valley and hills. Horse riding in the jungle among the woods is altogether a different experience available in Kufri and Naldehra only. The forest area has also been filmed many Hindi films and there is high probability of finding a film crew there in the summer months.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Mashobra is an ideal cycling stretch, for beginners and advanced enthusiasts, this is 18 kms in distance and passes through a breathtakingly refreshing country side, dotted with small villages and the wide open vista of the Greater Himalayas keeping you company all the time. It’s not a trail, rather more of a backroad, with sections of offroad (rocky) and paved bits. This stretch is also the first stage of the reputed Mountain Biking Himachal Enduro. The riding is almost flat, for about 13 kms at 2300 meters, and the last five kilometers you gain 230 meters in 5 kilometers (not much of an incline).

RIVER RAFTING

Tattapani is a popular attraction of this place, located at a distance of 30 km from Naldehra and 56 km away from Shimla. Tattapani is famous for its hot water springs and every year, many people come to this place to take a dip in this water. It is known for its sulphurous spring water,  which is believed to cure many ailments like joint pain, fatigues and certain skin diseases.
